About Myself

“I don't drink, I don't smoke, and women don't come near me”.

I suppose that one sentence should sum up my existence. I also suppose that it should drive away at least 20% of the visitors on this page, so there is more.

I love to eat – chicken is one of my favorites, though I am not having it too regularly at the moment. I am a walking reference for the best eating joints in Delhi, so much so that one of my former bosses said - “If a restaurant is not on Rupinder's favorites list, it is probably not worth going”. More on my eating preferences later. But to sum up my relation with food – while others eat to live, I live to eat.

WHERE IGNORANCE IS BLISS...

I have a wife, but let that not drive away all those pretty girls out there. It does not mean I am a leper :-P. Yeah, it is a different matter that a majority of people think that I became a better person after I met my wife. I on the other hand have a slightly different opinion. I think I made her a better person. The problem is that a majority (actually, everyone else apart from me ) thinks in favor of my wife. Well, where ignorance is bliss...

I also have a son, and I like to think that he has taken after me, although the rest of the world thinks otherwise. Well, I give you two choices: Either accept that I was like him some years ago, or that he will be like me after some years. Funnily, no one wants to take either choice. They like to think that he has taken after Chetna (Chetna who? The thing I am married to, you lemon!). I like to think that Anhad is me reborn into this world, and for those who think otherwise, I have only one thing to say: where ignorance is bliss...

Workwise, I don't know what I do. And I suspect if you ask my manager or previous managers, I am not sure they will have an idea too. I am sure they will say that I did something, but I suppose that will be more out of saving themselves the embarrasment that they could get little work out of me. For some odd reason, I am very allergic to work, and I like to think that human body looks best when it is at rest. There is an argument as to my human antecedents, but we can have it another day, another time.

Computers are my favorite pastime. I love playing games, surfing the internet, chatting with women (oops!), and occasionaly writing on my blog. Apart from that, I follow cricket and Formula-1 (BIG Ferrari Fan!), read whatever I like, have generic tastes in music and movies, and I like to think that I make amazing pasta!

Suffice to say, I am your average, overweight, next door neighbor who you would normally ignore, if it was not for his amazing family and friends. And if you have read this far, I would like to think that you have definitely found SOMETHING interesting. So do read further, and should you want to know more about who and what I am, you might want to check out http://picasaweb.google.com/rup1nd3r

Lord of the Singhs: The Return of the Singh

I am back.

I have decided that life is too short to worry about what people think of your creative freedom, and that most often what they think hardly matters, or is constructive for that matter. So a year after I deleted all my blog posts (because of a clause in my hiring agreement), I am rebooting an old habit – that of putting my thoughts on keyboard. I hope that this habit continues. I know that there is a LOT of ground to be covered, but as an old Chinese saying goes: A journey of a thousand miles always begins with the first step. Only in my case, I had covered about 200 of those miles before I returned to take that first step all over again.

So here goes...
